Bria Hawkins-Carty:
A Lil' Self Disclosure

I have always been passionate about helping people—I just didn’t know in what capacity until I took General Psychology with Dr. Webster at Tyler Junior College, where I earned my Associate’s degree in Psychology. I went on to receive my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler and later completed graduate school at Grand Canyon University, earning my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Empathy has always been an intrinsic part of who I am. I truly believe empathy is a gift—the ability to genuinely feel someone’s story without judgment and with deep compassion.

I’m a wife, a mom, and a lover of poetry—and yes, I go to therapy myself (because every therapist needs a therapist).

My therapeutic style is compassionate, empathetic, and caring. Once rapport is established, I gently invite clients into the uncomfortable spaces where real growth happens. I place a strong emphasis on connection and firmly believe that most people have the capacity to grow when they have the right person walking alongside them on their journey.

For ADHD Minds & Highly Sensitive Souls

I work with individuals who feel deeply, think quickly, and often struggle to execute—not because they don’t care, but because their nervous system is constantly taking in too much.

I understand the internal chaos that doesn’t always match the outside world. The racing thoughts. The emotional overwhelm. The frustration of knowing what you want to do—yet feeling stuck when it’s time to do it.

Many of my clients are highly sensitive, empathic, or emotionally intuitive. You may absorb the moods of others, feel easily overstimulated, or carry a quiet exhaustion from trying to keep up in a world that moves too fast and explains too little.

In our work together, we don’t focus on “fixing” you. We focus on understanding your system.

We explore:
  • Emotional regulation for sensitive nervous systems
  • Shame cycles tied to procrastination and burnout
  • Executive dysfunction without judgment
  • Boundaries for empaths who over-give
  • Turning sensitivity into self-trust instead of self-criticism

This space is for people who have been told they’re “too much” or “not enough”—often at the same time.

Here, your sensitivity is not a liability. It’s information.

And together, we learn how to work with it instead of against it.
